WAITLIST DETAILS


Like many small catteries, we sometimes have a waitlist for a specific breed, sex and/or color. Our waitlists can be comprised of future adopters that are looking for something quite specific, which means from any litter there is potential for a kitten(s) to be available for adoption without having to be on our waitlist for an extended period of time. 


We do try to update our website frequently on what kittens/cats are available (or soon to become available) and what litters are coming and/or planned, but if you’ve filled out our Kitten Inquiry form and get placed on our waitlist you’ll also get an email from us when there is a pregnancy confirmation, as well as if there is a kitten born and available that meets your desired “kitten profile” before they are listed as available to the general public.  The waitlist is also how we inform potential adopters of adult cats we are retiring from our breeding program.


We do not collect a deposit to be on our waitlist, further, you can contact us to make changes to your

“kitten profile” as well as request to be removed from the waiting list at any time. Deposits to reserve a kitten/cat will be collected at the time of selection and contracts being signed.


While the waitlist allows for us to contact you when your desired kitten is available, it does not necessarily ensure you will get “first pick” of a litter/kitten. We first look at a litter to determine if any of the kittens might fulfill an existing Emotional Support Animal (ESA) request.  From there, we contact people in the order in which they entered the waitlist.


In order to be fair to everyone on our waitlist we have a 24-hour response policy. If we do not receive a response from you to our e-mail notification of an available kitten/cat within 24 hours, we will e-mail the person next in line, and so on.  A lack of response does not immediately remove you from the waitlist, but after two (2) consecutive "kitten/cat availability" contacts from us without a response will be subject to having your profile suspended and being removed from the waitlist. 


We know people’s plans change and when a kitten/cat is available it may not be the right time and/or kitten for you. If you receive an availability notification from us and the time isn't right or you'd like to make revisions to your “kitten profile”, simply respond to our e-mail notification that you are not interested at this time but would like to remain on the waitlist.  We can also set up a time to chat if what you are interested in has changed and you would like for us to update your "kitten profile" - just let us know anytime via email at sarecscattery@gmail.com.
