BEHIND THE CATTERY

My name is Amanda Segelstrom and along with my daughter Lydia we run a small CFA, TICA, and REFR registered cattery located in central Minnesota.

Sarec's Cattery is a 'closed cattery' which means our cats are not exposed to any cats outside of our cattery.  We do not stud out our males (Sires) to other breeders, nor do we allow our females (Queens) to be bred with other males.  We believe that having all our Queens and Sires here in our cattery, as part of our families and daily lives, is the best way to ensure our kittens will have fantastic temperaments.

We breed for health, quality, and personality/temperament.  Our kittens are well socialized and comfortable around other cats, adults and children - and in some cases dogs!

We also have an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Program for those where their cat/kitten will be more than just a pet, it’s a companion necessary for mental health and overall wellbeing.

We breed...

Sphynx (Standard and Elf, including the occasional Devon Rex-like coat)

Bambino (Munchkin/Sphynx)

Minuet (Munchkin/Persian)

Kinkalow (Munchkin/American Curl)

Persian (Doll Face and Peke-Face)

American Curl

Selkirk Rex

Our breeding program consists of many different colors and patterns which include (but not limited to) calico, dilute calico, red harlequin, silver shaded, black/amber smoke, seal, chocolate, silver, blue and flame color-point, blue-patched tabby white, and cream tabby.

WHY ADOPT FROM SAREC'S CATTERY

At Sarec's Cattery, we want to provide healthy, well socialized and beautiful kittens in order to provide you with a precious feline companion you will have for many years.

Breeding parents will have the following tests completed to help ensure healthy kittens:

  • HCM echocardiogram by a board-certified cardiologist annually (Sphynx breed).
  • HCM DNA Genetic Test by NC State Veterinary Genetics Lab (Sphynx breed).
  • DNA testing for genetic diseases through Optimal Selection or Basepaws (all breeds).
  • FIV/FeLV tested (all breeds).
  • PKD DNA Genetic Test (polycystic kidney disease) (all breeds).

Our kittens are seen by our veterinarian prior to going to their forever homes and will receive a 'Health Report Card' from our veterinarian that will be made available to you upon adoption.  In addition, all of our cats are humanely treated, well socialized, and live their lives as part of our family.

KITTEN PLACEMENT PACKAGE

We provide each new kitten/cat adopter with the following:
